Tatiana, my children and I spent a morning by a secret waterfall on Maui’s north shore. Tatiana is not only an accomplished kitesurfer, windsurfer, surfer and stand up paddler, but she is very good at Yoga which helps her balance it all out. She is a lovely person inside and out, and she just glows. You can learn more about Tatiana here… www.tatianahoward.com and here…betheeffect.com and the incredibly fun job she has promoting water sports for women. Wish I thought of that! Enjoy…
SUP Zen Session with Tatiana Howard
Ruby
Little Ruby. 6 days old. Home safely with her Mama and her Grandmama while her Daddy paddles from island to island, far across the sea. Looking into her eyes I see a glimpse of her big sister. I imagine them going through life together, so close in age. They will be friends, and they will be a team. Just wait, little girls, the world will be your game.

Free Kitten
We have been searching high and low for just the right puppy. As it turns out, a cat found us instead. A very little one. We would like to find it a good home. She comes with a bag of kitten chow. Contact me!
Hannah ~ A Child’s Eyes ~ Maui Portrait Photographer
Hannah is as a child should be. Loved. Happy. Free. You can see it in her eyes. She is not worried about a thing. She is exuberant, very much so, yet also sensitive. During our photo session this pesky little one eyed cat found us and would not go away. It adopted Hannah, and then it bit her. Hannah cried and then she promptly forgave her. A simple act, but I thought it was surprising for a small child to be so kind. Little Hannah, you are an absolute delight. I look forward to more of your surprises in the years to come. Enjoy.

Jill ~ Growing ~ Maui Maternity Photographer
Jill is a mother. She has the most delightful little girl and is going to be having one more very soon. Jill is a nurse who works beside me in the ER. She is at that stage in her pregnancy where the patients get apologetic and ask for a glass of water or maybe a blanket and then say, “just tell me where, and I’ll go get it myself.” She is a nurse who has saved many lives and held many hands, sometimes in life, and sometimes in death. However, her very best work is in life. She is growing a life and that is most important and hardest work of all.

I ♥ Tutu’s!
We bought our little ramble shack of a cane house from an old Japanese family who lived here for over 60 years. It was built in 1946. The old man cared for the garden and raised six children in our house. Things were different then. I wonder if he ever thought about who would live in his house after him. The house needed a lot of work and so did the garden. Things took time and now life is flourishing inside and out. I think of the old family often and I like to think the old man would be happy knowing that there are children and blooming flowers here all over again.
