Dont Look ~ Maui Portrait Photographer

Working with kids is unpredictable. Sometimes they will only give you one shot. Often they are not going to do what you want. Sometimes what they want is really what you want. I had a shot in my mind for my son and this graffiti wall. We jumped out of the car and he was grumpy and not really up for it. He only gave me 3 frames and wouldn’t do what I wanted him to do. After uploading the 3 images I realized the way he styled the shot was sort of profound and had something to say. To me this shot is a metaphor about death. Death is bigger than us and often we are afraid to look. What do you see?

I love babies. AND I love happy families. I love meeting them and I have fun getting to know them. They show me their smiles. I am touched by their love. I am so honored to be let in. Morning session at Mama’s. Comically you can see that little Bode was a little slow to warm up. In fact this session almost didn’t happen as little Bode cracked his forehead open on the coffee table just the day before and spent a few hours in the Emergency Room (my day job) getting stitched up! If you look close you can see the bandaid. He is the cutest little rascal and his parents obviously have a lot of love. Hope you are feeling the love in your own life. Enjoy.
